6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Event Details

“The more you study delight, the more delight there is to study… I felt my life to be more full of delight. Not without sorrow or fear or pain or loss. But more full of delight." -Ross Gay

Join us for an online reading and Q&A with author Ross Gay and glean inspiration for your own delight writing. We'll hear from his works and have a brief time to chat as well. Take the next week to lean into your own sense of wonder and joy, write your own essayettes, and then you're invited to share them at the follow-up event on March 26th, also at 6pm- we can't wait to hear what brings you delight! Please pre-register & we'll send you the Zoom links to join on the day of the event.

Ross Gay is a poet, National Book Critics Circle Award winner, National Book Award finalist, and essayist. His works include four books of poetry: Against Which; Bringing the Shovel Down; Be Holding; and Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude, winner of the 2015 National Book Critics Circle Award and the 2016 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award. His new poem, Be Holding, was released from the University of Pittsburgh Press in September of 2020. His collection of essays, The Book of Delights, was released by Algonquin Books in 2019.

Ross's delight writing was recently featured in a This American Life podcast that our staff highly recommends- you can listen to it here: https://www.thisamericanlife.org/692/the-show-of-delights
