Event Details

Join photographer Sarah Schwab for a walk-and-talk class about photographing the world around you!
"The best camera is the one you have." -Chase Jarvis
Whether you use a smartphone, a point-and-shoot, or a more complex camera, you'll find Sarah's tips useful in composing amazing outdoor photos! In this class, you'll practice discovering a subject, building connection with it, documenting it and sharing the story. You'll also hear great tips about technical details, composition, optimizing lighting, and more. Take your photography game higher no matter what your equipment is, and celebrate our local great outdoors at the same time!

Meet at the library. Class will be entirely outdoors & distancing will be respected. Please bring your own camera (phone cameras, point & shoots, and more are all welcome- the simpler the better!) Please also pack the clothing layers, water, snacks etc that you will need during the class walk.

About the teacher: Sarah Schwab is a professional photographer based in Southwest Colorado. Her career has taken her around the world documenting stories for human health and industry based organizations. As she and her teams worked weeks in a location, the aftermath of unusual change in climate patterns would often become part of the story. In our post-covid world she specializes in environmental portraiture and is growing more responsive to efforts centering social justice and its intersections to wilderness protection and conservation here at home.
