In the FREE workshop with Jonathan P. Thompson, you will work on the tenants of creative non-fiction. You will discuss and practice telling idea stories through personal stories, writing about news, politics, or social issues through the lens of one’s own experience.
A note from Jonathan:
This will be what I’m calling a conversational writing workshop. I have no structured agenda, but rather a loose theme from which to start: Combining the personal perspective with the journalistic one. From there I’m hoping the participants can help steer the discussion with questions, comments, and suggestions. We can talk about everything from the conception of an idea, to pitching publications, to writing and rewriting, to the editing process, to publishing.
Folks should bring a writing utensil and paper. And if they’d like to bring a piece of writing (or, better yet, send it to me in advance so I can give them feedback), that’s fine, too.
