Talking Gourds Poetry Club presents: Bardic Trails

7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Event Details

Join us on the first Tuesday of every month for an online gathering of words, wit, and wisdom! The brilliant brainchild of the Talking Gourds Poetry Club, each Bardic Trails poetry night will feature an award-winning guest poet sharing their new and exciting work.

December's featured poet is Al Zolynas of California. Zolynas is author of the collections Near and Far (2019), The Same Air(1997), Under Ideal Conditions (1994), and The New Physics (1979). His work has appeared in many anthologies, including The Poetry of Men’s Lives: An International Anthology (2004); A Book of Luminous Things, An International Anthology of Poetry (1996); and A New Geography of Poets (1993).

In an interview with Karla Peterson in the San Diego Union-Tribune, Zolynas remarked, “One of the ongoing themes I have always been interested in is the sacredness of ordinary life, and how ordinary life reveals itself to be mysterious and wondrous when we are open to it." Zolynas has taught at San Diego State University and Alliant International University. He also teaches Zen meditation in Escondido, California.

We'll hear from Al's most beloved works; after the reading we will have time for Q&A, followed by poetry sharing. December's prompt, for those who wish, is Flesh.

Register here and we'll send you a Zoom link to join on the day of the event!

Bardic Trails is brought to you by the Telluride Institute, Between the Covers Bookstore, the Telluride Arts District, and the Wilkinson Public Library.
