The featured poet for this month is Diana Whitney! Diana Whitney writes across the genres with a focus on feminism, motherhood, and sexuality. She is editor of the bestselling anthology You Don’t Have to Be Everything: Poems for Girls Becoming Themselves, winner of the 2022 Claudia Lewis Award. Her poem, Acorns, was a 2022 Fischer Prize finalist. Her debut, Wanting It, became an indie bestseller and won the Rubery Book Award in poetry. Her essays, poems and criticism have appeared in The New York Times, Glamour, The Kenyon Review, The Washington Post, and many more. Diana is the recipient of a Creation Grant from the Vermont Arts Council for her collection-in-progress, Girl Trouble. A feminist activist in her Vermont hometown and beyond, she works with writers of all ages as an editor and coach. Her next book, Dark Beds, is forthcoming in October from June Road Press.  Find out more: www.diana-whitney.com

We'll follow Diana's reading with time for Q & A about her work and inspirations, with time afterwards for poetry sharing from attendees- a Gourd Circle of sharing whatever poetry you wish or just listening in. For those who desire, the poetic prompt for April is Desideratum.
