Thursday, January 11th, 6pm: ‚ÄúCommunication in the Backcountry‚ÄĚ

Join us for the second Telluride Backcountry Chat of the year! This is a free community gathering for the backcountry skiers and riders of the region. At this month's chat, we'll play Avalanche Trivia, learn more about our local backcountry radio protocols and discuss radio etiquette, and receive a presentation from our local Colorado Avalanche Information Center forecaster, Jeff Davis.

Also, there will be free pizza and drinks, we'll reveal who won the free BCA Radio social media giveaway, and we'll be handing out the mini-stickers designed to go on the back of your radio so you won't forget the new channels. Please join us!

The Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund has long been the presenting partner for Telluride's Backcountry Chat educational series. These chats are a great space for education and thinking about snow science, decision making, and safety in backcountry snow travel. But most importantly, they are a space for community building. Come meet new friends, share the stoke, and be a part of our region's amazing backcountry community!

Many thanks to our sponsors the Telluride Mountain Club, Mountain Trip, Telluride Mountain Guides, Telluride Helitrax, San Juan Outdoor Adventures, and of course the Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund.
