This will be an open community workshop and conversation around grief, trauma, stress injuries, and resilience. To allow for a place to learn common language and understanding of our nervous systems and their response to stress. To increase conversation and connection among the community around creating healthier and more resilient recreation communities. How to build our individual and group capacity to weather challenging incidents. Understand effective ways to plan for and respond to outdoor based stress and trauma.
Potential topics: Overview of stress injuries, trauma, grief, and resilience. Basic introduction to the nervous system, window of tolerance, and dysregulation. Strategies to respond to incidents and preventative tools to expand our capacity to support ourselves and others. Group discussion and sharing of resources.
