The brilliant brainchild of the Talking Gourds Poetry Club\, each Bardic Trails poetry night will feature an award-winning guest poet sharing their new and exciting work\, followed by Q &\; A about their work and inspirations\, with time afterwards for poetry sharing from attendees- a Gourd Circle of sharing whatever poetry you wish or just listening in. \;\n\nFebruary's featured poet is our own illustrious Art Goodtimes of San Miguel County! Poet\, basketweaver\, and former Green Party elected official in Colorado\, Art Goodtimes served as San Miguel County Commissioner (1996-2016) and Western Slope Poet Laureate (2011-2013.) Poetry editor emeritus for Earth First! Journal\, Wild Earth and The Mountain Gazette\, currently he's poetry editor for Fungi magazine and co-editor with Lito Tejada-Flores for the online poetry anthology SageGreenJournal.org. His latest book is Dancing on the Edge: The McRedeye Poems (Lithic Press\, Fruita\, Colorado\, 2019.) His poems appear in the Kinship book series from the Center for Humans and Nature (2021.)\n\nRetired from political life\, Art serves as a trustee emeritus and projects director for the Telluride Institute's Talking Gourds Poetry Program\, which includes virtual Bardic Trails readings\, live Poetry Club gatherings\, the San Miguel County and Western Slope Poet Laureate projects\, the Rella Youth Awards\, the Karen Chamberlain Award and the national/state Fischer/Cantor poetry prize contests.
